- I have had a very similar experience to this. I too made the mistake of
- getting a Comstar 28.8 and tried to install it under Win95. Big mistake,
- huge mistake. Their tech support is worse than Gateway's was two years
- ago (Gateway has excellent support now). How many of you can forget how
- Gateway got slammed for this kind of support. Zoom deserves the same
- treatment. Hopefully I will be able to say the same about Zoom in two
- years as I do about Gateway now. In the meantime, I've returned the
- Comstar and will be getting someone else's modem.
-
- It's not like installing a modem should be rocket science. I've done
- hard disk upgrades, BIOS upgrades, CPU upgrade, OS upgrade, motherboard
- swaps and the whole deal so many times I've lost count. But I've never
- had as hard a time installing a peripheral as with this silly modem.
- I've had good luck with Zoom in the past, but if this is the kind of
- product they are producing now...
